ONE-TO-ONE POTTERY HOLIDAY COURSE IN CONNEMARA

Alan Gaillard offers a personal, one–to–one, residential Pottery Course combined with holiday at his studio near Clifden in Connemara, Ireland. Courses may be 2-day, 3-day or 5-day and include dinner on day of arrival, bed and breakfast and lunches (but excluding other evening meals). 

The 5–day course also includes two afternoons of escorted touring of beautiful Connemara. Alternatively you can combine a short pottery course and stay extra days to take in the many attractions of Connemara. Accommodation is at the studio which overlooks Streamstown Bay, 2 kms from Clifden town, the “capital” of Connemara. Normally only one person is taken on the course but they may of course be accompanied by a partner sharing at a reduced (non-potting) rate.

The course is suitable for beginners and those with some experience who wish to learn or brush-up on the techniques of making high-fired stoneware.  Aspects covered include:

Kilns and reduction firing
